As easy as 1,2,3: How to organise your Ramadhan Duas. Part 1.

Salaams and hello everyone! How are you doing?

I pray you are in the best of health and happiness :)

With Ramadhan just around the corner, there’s no doubt that we will start thinking about what to pray, ask, and give thanks for in our duas.

*Ramadhan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar when adult Muslims worldwide fast from sunrise to sunset in order to empathize with the poor and needy.

* A ‘dua’ is a personal prayer or a supplication made to Allah by a Muslim.

* ‘Halaal’ means something which is permissible in Islam.

No doubt about it, it can be quite easy to fall into the trap of confusion and feeling overwhelmed with what we should ask for! After all, Allah is the King of the Universe, and nothing, absolutely nothing is impossible for Him. It’s crazy when you think about it, because you can ask for anything, and with firm Faith and Perseverance, He is the One who can grant you all your heart’s desires, provided they’re Halaal and in your best interests, of course.

I know that some people jot down all their duas and future goals in a long list, but it can become quite disorganised, so I have brought to you a simple, flawless and methodical format whereby you can note down your duas to enrich different areas of your life!

Steps:
1.      Note down the different areas or aspects of your life you are going to make dua for. Here are some examples; Personal, Professional, Health, Wealth, Habits, Family, Friends, Future, Repentance, Hubby, Children, Growth, Gratitude, Home...

Now of course, some of these categories can certainly overlap, but it’s up to you how specific you’d like to go. Bear in mind that you are making dua, and not reading out an ‘Ideal Life Wishlist’ to Allah. However, keep in mind that this is Allah you are asking for help, so the sky is your limit!

2.      Draw a table and put these topics as headings.

3.      Under each heading, literally write down everything you would like to ask and thank Allah for. This can be kept private, because sometimes you can feel judged for what your prayers are. I have also decided to include ‘Gratitude’ as one of the headings, because it can be so easy to fall into the trap of constantly asking, without remembering to thank Allah.

Thank you if you have read to this bit so far! Stay tuned for 'Part 2' where I'll be providing you with a sample list of duas that you can make to Allah for a bright and blessed life.

Till next time, keep smiling!

Salaams,

Shai
