Wonderblur Wizardry

Hello everybody :) In today's post, I will be providing you with a review on the new product The Body Shop has launched as part of their Drops of Youth range. I AM just 22, and using a DOY product may seem premature for moi, but the Wonderblur is a really good primer.

What is Wonderblur?
Wonderblur is a colourless, serum primer which should be used after you have moisturised your face in order to smooth out your complexion. It can be used as a moisturiser, or as a primer which can then be followed up with cosmetic application.

Benefits of Wonderblur
What Wonderblur looks like.
  1. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and pores.
  2. Evens out your skin tone.
  3. Lightweight and provides a matt finish.
  4. Moisturises your skin for a period of 12 hours.

The science behind Wonderblur

Wonderblur uses stem cell technology, using the purest plant extract from Edelweiss, which are stimulated in order to produce new plant cells. Edelweiss cells are proven to slow down the destruction and degradation of skin. As such, when the Wonderblur is applied, the Edelweiss stem cell technology stimulates the skin's stem cells to grow in the epidermis, producing an 'anti-aging effect.'
Wonderblur also uses hyaluronic technology. Hyaluronic acid is a 'gel-like' water holding molecule which serves as a cushioning agent in mammals. Apparently, half of the body's hyaluronic acid is based in the collagen of the skin, and it proves to be an excellent moisturises for skin because it helps to hold water molecules in the skin, which in turn hydrates the skin. Skin, being the largest organ in the human body, therefore contains the highest level of hyaluronic acid.

My thoughts?
Primer on my hand

The consistency of the primer is lovely and smooth. It glides on really well :) When I applied it to my face, I could feel the difference between the smoothness in comparison to the half of my face that had not been Wonderblur'd! In terms of providing moisture, it does this satisfyingly, not brilliantly. However, in terms of giving an opinion on reducing the appearance of fine lines, I can't really comment on this aspect because I genuinely haven't got enough 'wrinkles/lines' to reliably give a review :P But yes, it does indeed provide a matt finish, which is great, because a greasy face is just a no no :)

Have you used any similar products and what are your thoughts?
