Things I said "Alhamdulillah" for in June 2020!

Hello and Salaams everyone! :) I hope you're in the best of health, and are enjoying the eased up rules on Lockdown. In Leicester, unfortunately, we're facing a further 2 weeks of Lockdown due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, so life has taken a bit of a backward step again after looking forward to being able to go shopping. Boo hoo!

It's strange isn't it? Even little things like being able to go for someone's house, or going shopping which we always take for granted becomes such a thing of significance when you lose the opportunity to do it. I'm a firm believer in that you appreciate things more if you lose them. And these past months have definitely been a chance to acknowledge the 'small' things we don't give a second thought to. Below is my list of what I said 'Alhamdulillah' for in the past month. As you'll notice, it's very much food-related, because you know, 'time-pass', (as they say in Gujrati) during Covid-19. *cheeky smile*

1. Watching Netflix.
2. Returning to work and seeing colleagues and my class children.
3. Eating vanilla ice-cream with warm, soft, squidgy Gulab Jamun.
4. Drives to the countryside!
5. Decluttering and ruthless throwing away.
6. Rainfall after a really hot day.
7. Pamper sessions aka face masks!
8. Cool breeze hitting my legs on a hot night.
9. New opportunities.
10. Ordering goodies online.
11. Yummy shortbread and brownies.
12. Hot Indian mint chai.
13. Sketching and painting.
14. Speaking to friends.
15. Reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.
16. Discovering a great song.
17. A picnic in the park.
18. Indulging in make up sessions.
19. My Dadi being alive and well.
20. A negative Covid-19 test result.

What were you grateful for, or enjoyed in the past month? I promise you that you'll come up with a list longer than you'd have imagined.

Alhamdulillah means 'All Praise is due to Allah.'
Gulab Jamun is an Indian fried dumpling soaked in syrup.
