How to have a Harry Potter themed birthday.

HP was the first novel which got me hooked onto reading and will always be a firm favourite. The starry castle, the wizards flying high to the mermaids swimming deep down in The Lake have remained with me since. So it was only fitting that I have a HP themed birthday tea!  Read on to be mesmerised by my magical mischief... Prop ideas.  My backdrop was going to be a brick wall effect prop I had made previously. I was going to use this to create the King's Cross Station/entering Diagon Alley look, but the material wouldn't stay up :( Never mind!  What's great about it is that it is really quick to make, because all you need is a sheet of white cotton, with some red or brown rectangles printed on in paint.  I used the witch's hat, Harry's glasses and broomstick as the main props on my table. You could use both the broomstick and the witch's hat as photo props too for your friends! I think using these instead of card props is way more fun and authentic.  In the midd
